Nursery Staff

Position Summary: Tuckahoe Presbyterian Church seeks caregivers to staff their Sunday morning nursery. Staff will work as a team to care for infants ages 6 weeks - 3 years in a mixed-age setting.

Responsibilities and Duties:

● Provide care and supervision for children aged 6 weeks - 3 years in a church nursery setting

● Form relationships with children and parents to support the church community

● Work in a team setting to provide positive and safe environment for children in care

● Check children in and out of the nursery, guiding parents in the process.

● Lead or support Storytime -- reading one pre-selected book to children each Sunday

● Be willing to discuss Christian themes with children as they naturally arise from nursery materials

● Tidy, clean, and sanitize the room after each day of work.

Qualifications and Skills:

● High School degree or equivalent

● 1+ years’ experience in Early Childhood Education setting-highly desirable

● CPR certification-highly desirable

● Compassion and understanding

● Problem solving

● Communication

● Ability to work with a team of other care providers

● Ability to lift ~40lbs

● Must be able to pass a background and reference check

● Must be able to provide proof of full Covid-19 vaccination

Pay: $50 per session (up to 3 hours).

● Weekend availability required.

● Sundays, 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM
