About the Clinic for Special Children: Established in 1989, The Clinic for Special Children is an independent, mission-driven ambulatory clinic providing cutting-edge research and compassionate care for children and adults with rare, genetic disorders. The majority of patients are uninsured, live in agrarian settings, and are of Old Order Amish or Mennonite (Plain) ancestry.
Position Summary: The Nursing Director leads a dedicated nursing team where they play a visible, hands-on leadership role assisting in day-to-day medical services and working closely with the Medical Director and Practice Manager to ensure patients receive safe, high quality, evidence-based medical care. They oversee nurse-led programs such as outreach clinic management and home-based palliative care. As a member of the Clinic for Special Children's Leadership Team and Clinical Operations Team, they implement policies, ensure compliance, mentor staff, and shape organizational strategy.
Minimum Requirements to apply:
BSN required; MSN, MBA or other relevant advanced degree preferred
Current RN license
Minimum 5yrs nursing experience
Prior experience as a Nursing Manager or Director or an equivalent combination of experience, education, and training that includes three years in a managerial capacity providing nursing care.
Experience or interest in genetics and metabolic conditions a plus.
