Nursing Faculty-Full Time Assistant Professor

Cornerstone University is seeking a full time, tenure-track, 9-month teaching faculty for our nursing program to begin in mid-August 2024. We are a theologically conservative Christian University located in Grand Rapids, MI. The primary responsibilities of the faculty are teaching, spiritual modeling and mentoring, scholarship, and involvement in and service to Cornerstone and the general community.
Candidates should be able to develop and implement curricula in order to prepare students adequately for the challenges presented within all aspects of the nursing field. Duties may include as follows: traditional classroom teaching, lab instruction, and clinical instruction; revise, review and/or develop curriculum as needed; complete all required professional development/training; collect and submit required assessment of student learning data; participate in appropriate campus and system committees, meetings, projects, and activities; other duties as assigned. Other responsibilities include scholarly engagement in the candidate’s specialization area, academic advising, nursing specific committee work, and other departmental duties as assigned.
Requirements and Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will possess at least a master’s degree in nursing (MSN) with preference for a PhD in Nursing or a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree.
Nursing education experience is preferred. The candidate should have clinical experience, give evidence of scholarly potential, and demonstrate a commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching. Cornerstone‘s nursing program provides a Christ-focused education that is dedicated to smaller class sizes and one on one training of students. Our faculty enjoy working together to mentor and teach eager students our specific subject matter with a Christian Worldview.
Physical requirements include the ability to teach about 12 credits/semester of classes and labs on campus, use computers, operate lab equipment, and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
Candidates will be asked if they are authorized to work in the US.
Salary Range and Start Date:
$75.000 to $90,000/year for a 9-month teaching contract. The actual salary will be commensurate with professional credentials, education and experience. A full benefit package including health plans, disability coverage, and retirement is included.
