DESCRIPTION

• Supervises all nursing care to residents to ensure quality of care is provided.
  


• Assists with the formation and revisions of care plans & assures that care plan, medication & treatment record, as well as nurses comply with physician’s orders.
  


• Analyses, evaluates, and performs resident care and makes recommendations for improvement.


• Completes annual employee evaluations when due.


• Assures that emergency equipment, IV pumps, Feeding pumps, and other supplies are functioning and readily accessible to the Nursing Home.
  


• Coordinates scheduling of all staff to receive monthly required education activities & CPR annually.
  


• Resolves inter-departmental conflicts as they occur involving nursing service.


• Works with families and residents to ensure quality of care is provided & to resolve any care or complaint issues.
  


• Assists in planning, developing and direction of all CQI Infection Control activities and staff development programs.
  


• Lead & participates with committees in writing & maintaining policies & procedure manuals and nursing service forms.
  


• Keeps current in the latest developments by attending professional seminars, institutes and reading professional journals.
  


• Assists with Departmental Budget procedures and provides input for budget process related to nursing department.
  


• Maintain confidentiality at all time in accordance with Protected Health Information (PHI)
  


• Acts as Compliance and Ethics Officer for the facility

Education/Qualifications: 

• Graduate of an accredited school of registered Nursing.
  


• Holds a current State of Georgia RN License.

Experience: 

Prior experience as a RN in long term care required, BSN preferred but not required.
