                                                                                     Job Summary
The Nursing Home Polling Place Coordinator reports directly to the Voting Logistics and Locations Supervisor and is responsible for the assignments of election judges for Nursing Home voting for each election cycle. The person holding this position also drafts emails to judges regarding recruitment, availability, training and assignment. The position is also responsible for assisting their supervisor with responding to calls from Judges with questions about assignments and is also responsible for recruiting election judges to work nursing home voting.  The Nursing Home Polling Place Coordinator will ensure that all assigned election judges have taken the required training to serve as judges. The position will provide customer/voter support during Nursing Home voting for voter verification, complaints and general assistance. The Nursing Home Polling Place Coordinator will monitor any electioneering, fraud or voter complaints and will enter ACF tickets for all requests for supplies or machine issues pertaining to nursing home voting. The person holding this position must also work with Nursing Home rovers and monitor ACF, making sure all calls are serviced and all calls closed. This position may require overtime work, including weekends as needed.

                                                  Essential Job Duties

  • Work with Judge Unit to identify and place all Nursing Home Judges.
  • Drafts emails to all Judges pertaining to recruitment, availability, training and assignment.
  • Assist Supervisor of Voting Logistics and Locations as necessary.
  • Assist Supervisor with responding to calls from Judges with questions about assignments.
  • Recruit established Election Judges to work Nursing Home voting.
  • Work with Polling Place Unit as needed.
  • Maintain Nursing Home training class rosters for attendance.  Communicate any changes to Supervisor on a daily basis during training.
  • Communicate with and re-schedule anyone who did not attend their class.
  • Assign Judges to a Nursing Home site.
  • Submit and approve payroll for the entire Nursing Home period.
  • Interact with nursing home Judges via email and telephone before, during and after Nursing Home voting.
  • Communicate as necessary with Supply Judge at each Nursing Home Site.
  • Provide customer/voter support during Nursing Home voting for voter verification, complaints and general assistance.
  • Resolve conflicts with Judges as they occur.
  • Monitor any electioneering, fraud or voter complaints.
  • Work with IT to resolve computer related issues.
  • Enter ACF tickets for all requests for supplies or machine issues.
  • Work with Nursing Home rovers and monitor ACF, making sure all calls are serviced and all calls closed.
  • Deal with the day-to-day issues of the Nursing Home sites.
  • Evaluate performance of Nursing Home Judges after the conclusion of Nursing Home voting.
  • Review Judges’ surveys post-election for general complaints, suggestions and feedback.
  • Work overtime including weekends as needed.

                                                Minimum Qualifications
  • Possession of a High School Diploma or a General Education Development (G.E.D.) certificate.
  • Two (2) years of experience performing elections related work.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.                
                                              Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of voting equipment and nursing home procedures
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office including Word and Excel.
  • Ability to resolve conflicts or problems with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent customer service, including always maintaining a professional demeanor while communicating with the public and nursing home staff.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and to work well as part of a creative and problem-solving team.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects and prioritize tasks for optimum results.
  • Ability to work under pressure while multi-tasking and be able to meet strict deadlines.
  • Ability to work overtime including evenings, weekends, and holidays during the election cycle.
