Responsibilities
- Plan staffing schedule for entire nursing department according to facility and State regulations under the direction of the assistant administrator
- Knowledge of master schedule process.
- Handle daily scheduling problems on a timely basis, making sure all areas are covered before leaving.
- Keep Assistant Administrator informed of staffing needs.
- Plan and keep record of adequate orientation on units for new employees and those making a job category change.
- Attend job related and mandatory department in-services.
- Know and respect the rights of residents.
- Ability to provide professional distance in a manner to problem-solves and achieve nursing staff acceptance.
- Maintain all communication with HIPPA requirements.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Education: High School diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three months’ related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience: Knowledge of scheduling. Must have basic keyboard skills and knowledge of, or willingness to learn, computer, operation. Must be organized, goal oriented, and trustworthy with confidential information. Employee must participate in orientation training, attend mandatory in-services and/or other department specified training in-services.
- Computer Skills: Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel Processing software, the internet, and have ability and willingness to learn and use, if any, other software applications pertaining to this position.
