The endocrinology medical office is looking for a registered/certified nutritionist or dietitian to run our established wellness/weight loss program focused on diabetes, metabolic syndrome, and thyroid issues. We are looking for an individual to do clinical consults within our practice. Our program utilizes body composition analysis combined with personalized food plans.
The candidate must have excellent communication skills. A nutrition science foundation is a must. Great potential to do clinical nutrition in a medical setting.
It is a part-time position, about 10-15 hours to start. The ability to work some Saturdays is a plus but not required
Qualifications and responsibilities:
- Evaluate the Medical Nutrition Therapy needs of the patients and implement appropriate interventions to improve their nutritional status
- Provide individual nutrition and health coaching
- Develop and conduct group nutrition education programs
- Prior experience preferred
- Valid and active certifications and education
- Knowledge of contemporary principles and practices of nutrition, the nutritional value of foods, interpretation, and implementation of special diets, and meal planning
- Knowledge of EMR (Practice Fusion) is a plus but not required
- Knowledge of InBody Body Composition analyzer is a plus but not required
- Certified Diabetic Educator is a plus but not required

Dr. Khalfin is holding certifications in Internal Medicine and in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism from the American Board of Internal Medicine. She’s also a current member of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists, the American College of Physicians, and the Endocrine Society.
Dr. Khalfin is a graduate of the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine of the New York Institute of Technology. She continued her education through internships and residencies at the Staten Island University Hospital and North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System. She also completed a fellowship program in clinical endocrinology at the New York Medical College at Westchester Medical Center.
