O&M Technician – High Voltage Electrician

Position Overview
As an O&M Technician specializing in high-voltage systems, you will ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of our power-generation equipment. You’ll work both independently and as part of a multi-discipline team, executing maintenance, troubleshooting, and safety procedures under the guidance of the Shift O&M Leader.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance on plant equipment, including 4,160 V switchgear, motors, breakers, transformers, and generator assemblies
• Execute high-voltage switching orders, rack breakers in/out (manual and remote), and conduct Megger insulation tests
• Ground motors, transformers, and circuit breakers safely and verify proper neutral terminations and flex-link connections on generators
• Manage contractors and serve as the subject-matter expert for the facility’s electrical training program
• Maintain compliance with safety, environmental, and lock-out/tag-out procedures
• Read and interpret electrical one-line diagrams, schematics, and wiring layouts
• Support shift work, overtime, on-call, outage, weekend, and holiday schedules (typical 10-hour shifts)

Background (candidates should have at least one):

• Electrical Maintenance: High-voltage troubleshooting (switchgear, motors, breakers), use of precision test instruments, and completion of accredited electrical training
• Instrument & Control: Relay programming, MCC wiring and breaker settings at 4,160 V, and control-system integration
• Mechanical Maintenance: Maintenance and repair of mechanical components on high-voltage equipment

$40 - $55 Per Hour
