The OSOP Community Recovery Coach is an integral part of the Peer Recovery Coach (PRC) team that is designated to conduct outreach and engagement to people with substance abuse during pregnancy and the postpartum period who will be referred from the Obstetrics Department. This individual provides non-clinical services intended to aid patients in establishing recovery and reducing the risk associated with an overdose, improving engagement in Obstetric care and improving maternal and neonatal outcomes. The OB Community Recovery Coach will assist in completing referrals to recovery support and substance use treatment services as well as developing service plans to promote successful linkage to referred services. Services will primarily be provided in the community; however, the Coach may meet patients in the hospital in the Obstetrics Care Unit, triage or the Mother Baby Unit as well as at ambulatory appointments to assure successful continuity in care; and other duties as assigned.

The referenced base salary range represents the low and high end of University of Maryland’s Faculty Physician’s Inc. salary range for this position. Some candidates will not be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. Exact salary will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate's geographic location, skills, work experience, market conditions, internal equity, responsibility factor and span of control, education/training and other qualifications.
