Job Description - OB/GYN Physician

JOB OVERVIEW

• Job Title: Physician – OB/GYN

• Job Type: Locum Tenens (Contract)

• Location: Clovis, NM

• Service Setting: Inpatient and Outpatient

• Coverage Type: Clinical + Call

• Coverage Period: Starting 07/01/2025 – Ongoing

• Clinical Shift Schedule: Clinic Mon–Thurs, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM; Fri 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM

• On-Call Shift Schedule: 24-hour call, 7:00 AM – 7:00 AM

• Call Type: In-House or Beeper

• Call Ratio: Looking for 7–10 days/month

PATIENT INFORMATION

• Patient Demographics: Women’s health and OB/GYN patients

• Patient Volume/Census: 18–24 patients/day; 70–90 deliveries/month

• Admissions: Yes

• Rounding: Included

• Phone Consults: Yes

• Case Mix: General OB/GYN care including deliveries and women’s health consults

FACILITY INFORMATION

• EMR System: Epic

• Specialty Backup Available: Women’s Health NP and Nurse Midwife, RN

• Support Staff Available: Women’s Health NP, Nurse Midwife, RN

• Reason for Coverage: Staffing need for OB/GYN services

PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE

• Hospital Privileges Required: Yes

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

• Rate: TBD

• Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance

REQUIRED PROCEDURES

• Deliveries

• OB/GYN consults and surgical procedures

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Licenses: Eligibility to obtain New Mexico medical license

• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP; Board Certified (or active in certification process) in OB/GYN

• Experience: Minimum 2 years preferred

• Other Qualifications: Must be OB/GYN residency trained

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide OB/GYN care in both inpatient and clinic settings

• Perform deliveries and consults

• Take 24-hour call on assigned days

• Use Epic for EMR and documentation

• Collaborate with midwives, NPs, and RN staff to deliver quality care
