Job Summary

Supervises programs operations. Subordinates include staff involved with professional operational functions. Oversight of administrative areas such as practice revenue management, billing systems and procedures, facilities and safety procedures, registration, new patient coordination, scheduling, medical records storage and maintenance, insurance authorizations. May also supervise patient support staff such as medical assistants or LVNs, in coordination with the nursing lead.

The OBIC SORT Program Manager will be the lead in the program development, implementation, and day-to-day management of the program. The SORT Program Manager will supervise SORT staff members.

Department Description

OBIC Clinic is in the Division of Substance Use And Addiction Medicine (DSAAM), which is a part of the UCSF Department of Psychiatry at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital.

DSAAM and the UCSF Department of Psychiatry at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center (ZSFG) is dedicated to providing culturally competent services to the diverse patient population we serve. Providing a range of clinical services informed by evidence-based practices, cultural humility, and trauma-informed care.

The DSAAM consists of a number of programs located at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center and within the community including OBIC Clinic, Opioid Treatment Outpatient Program (OTOP), Methadone Van, Office-based Opioid Treatment Program, and Stimulant Treatment Outpatient Program.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in related area and three + years of related experience, and one + years of lead/supervisory experience or equivalent combination of experience / training.
Experience in the field of public health.
Experience working with populations diverse in gender, sexual orientation, race, ethnic, and socioeconomic background.
Experience with clinical supervision.
Knowledge of business software and specialized applications and data management systems used in clinic / center operations.
Working knowledge of human resources management policies, with the ability to train, monitor, evaluate, and document human resources issues and performance, and to provide input to decision-making on human resources matters.
Demonstrated skills to supervise support staff in clinic / center administration, and to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
In depth knowledge of practice operations, patient-scheduling systems, medical and insurance terminology, applicable information systems, patient service standards, and regulatory requirements.
Detail oriented, with the ability to apply analytical and critical thinking skills to quickly analyze problems, determine appropriate level of intervention, and apply effective solutions.
Solid interpersonal skills for effective information exchange and problem solving with all levels of management and staff, consultants and outside agencies.
Strong skills in written and verbal communications, with the ability to convey complex administrative, clinical, and technical information in a clear and concise manner, and to produce a variety of reports and analyses.

Preferred Qualifications

Graduate education in Social Work, Psychology or related field required.
Licensure in relevant patient care support discipline, LCSW, MFT, APRN, MD, or Psychologist required
California Driver's License (CADL).
CPR and first aid certification.
Experience in a clinic serving patients with SUD and with knowledge about SUD treatment and regulations.
Experience with direct supervision of staff including selecting, training, and evaluating staff.
Experience with employing disciplinary measures, including placing an employee on suspension, labor union grievances, and advising on disciplinary measures.
Experience or knowledge in patient outreach.
Demonstrated project management skills and at least two years' experience in program development.
Ability to communicate in spoken and written Spanish.
