We are looking for a problem solver who upon hearing “This will really add value to our customers if we can pull it off, but no one knows how to do it” responds by saying “Challenge accepted!”

Challenge accepters will have numerous opportunities to add significant value to our customers and grow professionally in a rapidly evolving space.

Challenges that will require solutions include:

Ingest performance related metrics, traces, and logs from a wide variety of infrastructure components such as message queues, databases, storage, and network devices

Ingest business and operational metadata from a diverse set of sources into the observability platform such as change controls and service ownership

Consult with our customers and develop a monitoring strategy that will provide maximum observability for their application

Automate onboarding and ingestion where possible to reduce toil

Coach customers on how to troubleshoot application performance issues and application outages using our service

By accepting these challenges, the candidate will play a key role in supporting Ford Motor Company’s ‘Always On’ objective across the enterprise from assembly lines to cloud based microservices by helping avoid outages and reduce downtime.

Ability to work without significant technical oversight and coordinate tasks with teams of technical specialists

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with application performance management or logging platforms such as Dynatrace, Datadog, or Splunk

Experience with query languages such as SQL, Splunk Processing Language, or Dynatrace Query Language

Understanding of common software platforms such as GCP Cloud Run, Kubernetes, PCF/Tanzu, GCP Cloud Functions, or traditional VMs and how their architecture and dependencies may affect application performance

Software development experience with an understanding of CICD pipelines

GCP or SRE certifications

Experience with RESTful APIs

Experience with product & development teams to establish error budgets by identifying the right SLOs (Service level objective), SLIs (Service level indicators), KPIs (Key performance indicators) and effectively drive the use of the budget to ensure maximum availability/uptime.
