Job Description - Obstetrics & Gynecology physician

Job Quick Facts:

• Reason For Coverage: Supplemental

• Coverage Period: ASAP - Ongoing

• Coverage Type: Call only

• Call Schedule: TBD; 24-hr call

• Patient Volume: Ave. of 25-30

• Ave. No. of GYN Surgeries: 3-4 per day

• Admissions: 6 per day (nursery)

• Physicians in Practice: 8

• Mid-levels in Practice: 20

• Support Staff: Each physician has an MA.

• % of Practice: 50% Low-risk pregnancy, 50% GYN, 35% C-Section.

• Required Procedures:

- Low & High-risk pregnancy

- Complicated Delivery: C-Section, Breech, Multiple Births, Abruptions, etc.

- VBACs, Repair of 3rd & 4th Degree Lacerations

- Surgical Gyne: Open Laparoscopic Diagnostic/Minor Only-Tubal Ligation, LOAs, Chromal Tubation, Operative/Major (Includes Diagnostic): Ectopic Pregnancy, Ovary Removal, Cystectomy, Extensive LOAs.

- Routine Delivery: Vaginal, Low Forceps, Decision-Making for C-Section.

- Office/Minor Gyne: IUD, Cystoscopy, Colposcopy, Cryosurgery, LEEP, etc.

• No. of Exam Rooms: Depends on the location

• No. of Beds: 9 in L&D

• Nursery Level: III

• Trauma Level: II

• EMR: Cerner/ Oracle

• Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance covered

Requirements:

• NJ License

• BC

• Local only (mileage)
