Occupational Health Physician Assistant - Urgent

Occupational Health Physician Assistant needed for a part-time, 20 hour a week contract opportunity with Yoh’s well-known manufacturing client located in Wentzville, MO.

This clinic offers occupational and preventative care for employees onsite. You will oversee and provide direct patient care and treatment, perform medical examinations, integrate with the local business, support the site emergency response program, and promote health and well-being.

Top Skills You Should Possess:

• Active/unrestricted Physician Assistant (PA-C) license in state of Missouri
• Current prescription authority and DEA
• Minimum of 3-5 years' experience as a provider in an Occupational Health, Emergency Medicine, Urgent Care, Internal Medicine, Corrections, and/or Family Practice type setting

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Treat minor work-related and non-work related injuries and illnesses for employees onsite
• Perform onsite physical assessments (pre-placement, return-to-work, fitness-for-duty)
• Dispense over the counter and prescription medications in accordance with pre-established standing orders to employees with minor work-related and non-work related concerns (back pain, headache, pharyngitis, etc)
• Provide support and case management for both work-related and non-work-related conditions for the purposes of reducing illness and absenteeism
• Provide onsite testing for strep pharyngitis, UTI, influenza, hyperglycemia and hypoglycemia
• Promote wellness/wellbeing initiatives at the site
• Respond to emergencies on the campus as needed

What You Need to Bring to the Table:

• Must be flexible to work up to 20 hours a week, rotating between 1st and 2nd shift depending on the need of the business.
  • Shifts typically around: 6:00am to 2:30pm, 8:00am to 4:30pm, 2:00pm to 10:30pm, and 3:00pm to 11:30pm
  • Can be flexible with: (2) eight hour shifts, (5) four hour shifts, (4) five hour shifts, (2) ten hour shifts
• Current BLS
• National Certification
• Computer skills with previous experience using EMR
• Interpersonal skills necessary to interview, teach and counsel patients and interact with clients/employers
