Occupational Therapist

Description of the role:

The Occupational Therapist will be responsible for providing high-quality occupational therapy services to patients in Ypsilanti, Michigan. They will assess patients' needs and develop treatment plans to help them improve their daily living skills and independence. They will also collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for patients.

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate patients' physical, mental, and emotional conditions to determine their occupational therapy needs.


• Develop individualized treatment plans and goals based on patients' assessments.


• Implement therapeutic activities and interventions to improve patients' motor skills, strength, coordination, and cognitive abilities.


• Monitor patients' progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.


• Educate patients, their families, and caregivers about proper techniques and exercises to improve their functional abilities.


• Document patients' progress, assessments, and treatment plans accurately and timely.


• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as physicians and speech therapists, to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy.


• Licensure or eligibility for licensure as an Occupational Therapist in Michigan.


• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.


• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.


• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
