Occupational Therapist – Part-Time (Fee for Service)
Location: Rockland County, NY

Community Medical and Dental Care, a non-profit community health center located in Rockland County, NY, has an immediate opening for a part-time Occupational Therapist. This is a fee-for-service position. We are seeking a dedicated professional to join our team for Sundays and after-school hours.

Responsibilities:

• Facilitate development and rehabilitation of patients with mental, emotional, and physical disabilities by planning and administering medically prescribed occupational therapy.

• Help patients develop or regain physical or mental functioning or adjust to disabilities through programs involving manual arts and crafts, functional, prevocational, vocational, and homemaking skills, as well as activities of daily living and sensorimotor, educational, recreational, and social activities.

• Promote maximum independence by selecting and constructing therapies based on the individual’s physical capacity, intelligence level, and interests.

• Evaluate therapy results by observing, noting, and assessing patient progress; recommend and implement necessary adjustments.

• Ensure continuity of care by designing and instructing patients, families, and caregivers in home exercise programs, recommending/providing assistive equipment, and suggesting follow-up care such as outpatient or home health programs.

Qualifications:

• Current NY State Occupational Therapy license

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
