Occupational Therapist

The Occupational Therapist is responsible for the evaluation, planning, directing and administering of occupational therapy modalities of treatment as prescribed by a licensed physician.  OT is responsible for directing the development, implementation, supervision and ongoing evaluation of the activities program. This includes the completion and/or directing/delegating the completion of the activities component of the comprehensive assessment; and contributing to and/or directing/delegating the contribution to the comprehensive care plan goals and approaches that are individualized to match the skills, abilities, and interests/preferences of each resident. 



 Responsibilities:

• Complete Occupational therapy assessments.


• Perform treatments, creates home based plans, monitoring of plans for implementation and effectiveness..

• Attend client centered meetings or provides information when needed.


• Performs skills based competency training for staff


• Must have good verbal and written communication skills, including participating in team meetings, training clients and staff, and quality electronic record documentation.


• Will conduct themselves in accordance with the Rules and Regulations relating to Occupational Therapist Education, Licensure, and Practice in the State of Texas.


• Will abide by the rules, regulations, and policies of HHSC and Facility.

Minimum Qualifications:

• All certifications must be current and remain as such while providing services at the Facility


• Maintain current Occupational Therapist license with the State of Texas. Maintain CEUs for licensure.


• Must be in “good standing with Executive Council of Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy Examiners.

Preferred Experience

• Sensory Integration assessment and treatment planning


• School based therapy and collaboration with teachers


• Outpatient Occupational therapy services

Other

• Must comply with HHSC immunization requirements


• Must submit to HHSC required drug test


• Must submit to HHSC required fingerprinting


• Must comply with facility and HHSC required training


• Schedule 8 am to 5pm M-F with some flexibility to do assessments
