Occupational Therapist Educational Services

• Recommend adaptive equipment and classroom strategies.
  
  


• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate therapy records.
  
  


• Assess students’ functional needs and provide individualized OT services.
  
  


• Support fine motor, handwriting, sensory processing, visual-motor, and daily living skills
  
  


• Contribute to IEP planning and collaborate with teachers, families, and school support teams.
  
  

Requirements

• Completion of the required supervised fieldwork experience.
  
  


• Strong clinical judgment, communication, organization, and collaborative skills.
  
  


• Previous pediatric or school-based occupational therapy experience is beneficial.
  
  


• Current, active South Carolina occupational therapy license, or eligibility to obtain state licensure. A valid license is required before practicing.
  
  


• Successful completion of a board-approved occupational therapy certification examination and good standing with NBCOT or another board-approved certification program.
  
  


• Graduate of an occupational therapy education program approved by ACOTE or another accrediting body accepted by the South Carolina Board of Occupational Therapy.
