Join Our Inpatient Rehabilitation Team
McLeod Health is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Occupational Therapist to join our Inpatient Rehabilitation team. In this role, you will help patients regain independence and improve their quality-of-life following illness, injury, or disability. Working collaboratively with an interdisciplinary care team, you will develop and implement individualized treatment plans that promote recovery and maximize functional outcomes.
Responsibilities
Complete comprehensive patient evaluations through history, observation, and objective assessment techniques.
Develop individualized treatment plans and establish measurable functional goals in collaboration with patients and families.
Provide occupational therapy interventions for patients with musculoskeletal, neurological, cardiovascular, developmental, and other functional impairments.
Monitor patient progress, modify treatment plans as needed, and maintain accurate clinical documentation.
Complete evaluations, re-evaluations, treatment notes, charges, and discharge summaries in accordance with departmental and hospital guidelines.
Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team regarding patient progress, recommendations, and treatment plans.
Assist with department scheduling adjustments and caseload management.
Provide guidance and supervision to Occupational Therapy Assistants (OTAs), including goal setting and patient care coordination.
Support departmental initiatives through mentoring, clinical education, competency training, performance improvement activities, and professional development.
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized treatment environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Education & Licensure
Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
Current South Carolina Occupational Therapy License.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification.
Skills & Abilities
Strong clinical assessment and treatment planning skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
Commitment to professional development and maintaining required continuing education for South Carolina licensure.
