Office Assistant V Correctional Facilities OAHU

Job Summary

This position is responsible for reviewing police reports, court orders, warrants, bail/bond documents, and other legal records to calculate and verify pre-confinement credit and inmate release dates. The role provides technical supervision to staff responsible for sentence computations, approves calculations, and ensures compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and procedures.

Additional responsibilities include supervising and participating in complex clerical and administrative functions, interpreting legal and procedural requirements, evaluating information for accuracy and compliance, resolving issues not covered by standard procedures, assigning and reviewing work, training staff, and exercising independent judgment in handling sensitive records and documentation.

Requirements:

• Experience performing advanced clerical and administrative duties.
• Knowledge of office practices, procedures, and record management.
• Experience reviewing legal or court-related documents and performing accurate calculations.
• Ability to interpret laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and supervisory skills.
• Experience planning, assigning, reviewing, and evaluating staff work.
• Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment in complex situations.
• Proficiency with office equipment and administrative technologies.
