Educational and Capability Requirements:

  • Knowledge of supervisory principles, office practices, administrative procedures, and applicable agency policies and regulations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and standard office equipment.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks in a changing work environment.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret instructions and prepare accurate, concise, professional documents.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
  • Ability to work effectively with employees and management at all levels.
  • Ability to travel to Audit Site locations.
  • Government experience preferred.

With a statewide staff of more than 800 auditors and other professionals, the Auditor of State's office is responsible for auditing all public offices in Ohio, (nearly 6,000 entities). This includes cities, counties, villages, townships and schools. 


The Auditor of State’s office (AOS) is seeking an organized and experienced professional to fill an Office Manager vacancy in the Cuyahoga County area. The Office Manager works directly with the Chief Auditor to support daily regional operations, supervise support staff, coordinate administrative functions, and ensure office procedures are completed efficiently and accurately. This position also serves as a liaison between staff and management and supports personnel, purchasing, reporting, facility, and contracting activities. Click here to learn more about our office! 

What You'll Do:

  • Assist the Chief Auditor with daily office operations and administrative functions.
  • Supervise support staff, coordinate workflow, and adjust assignments based on changing needs.
  • Train staff on office procedures and participates in employee interviews and performance evaluations.
  • Monitor compliance with agency policies, procedures, and personnel requirements.
  • Assist with budget planning, management reports, inventory, purchasing, and IPA contracting.
  • Format final audit reports for publication and edit files to ensure proper presentation.
  • Prepare correspondence, reports, notices, and other business documents.
  • Coordinate first- and last-day procedures for regional employees.
  • Maintain files, retrieve information, and respond to routine inquiries.
  • Coordinate facility maintenance needs and serve as a liaison between regional staff and management.
  • Maintain confidentiality and perform other duties as assigned.
