Key Responsibilities:
• Manage all aspects of bookkeeping including accounts receivable, accounts payable, journal entries, and preparing financial statements.
• Conduct detailed reviews of financial statements, bank transactions, and cash flow to ensure accuracy and provide insights for financial planning.
• Maintain and update accounting systems (QuickBooks, Jobber).
• Handle all banking needs, including reconciliations, banking relationships, and managing loans.
• Oversee payroll processing, ensuring timely and accurate payment and compliance with tax laws.
• Manage office operations, including answering phones, office cleaning, and ensuring the team has the support they need.
• Provide direct support to the management team and assist in the preparation and coordination of weekly meetings.
• Train and supervise staff in financial processes and office management.
• Serve as a point of contact for client communication via email and telephone.
• Coordinate with CPA for tax preparation and resolving issues.
• Manage human resources functions including hiring, onboarding, employee relations, and managing unemployment claims.
• Oversee compliance with insurance, legal, safety, and other regulatory matters.
• Develop and maintain relationships with vendors, clients, and management.
• Handle special projects and research as needed to support business growth and operational needs.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
• Proven experience as a Controller, Office Manager, or similar role, preferably in the landscaping industry.
• Strong understanding of financial processes, accounting principles, and human resources management.
• Experience with QuickBooks Online, Jobber (this is a plus), and Microsoft Office suite.
• Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and manage various project elements simultaneously.
• High attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Additional Skills:
• Notary certification is preferred.
• Experience with payroll systems and personnel management.
• Knowledge of H2B process and related compliance a plus.
