On-Call Pre-K Teachers Needed

ECE Substitutes, Inc. is seeking dependable, compassionate, and flexible On-Call Preschool Teachers to join our team and support early childhood education programs in our partner centers. On-call teachers fill in as needed to ensure uninterrupted care, learning, and safety when regular staff are unavailable.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide nurturing, responsive care to children in a safe and developmentally appropriate environment.


• Implement lesson plans and daily activities in alignment with the classroom teacher’s instructions and the center’s curriculum.


• Maintain a positive, inclusive, and respectful classroom culture.


• Engage children in play-based learning, fostering social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development.


• Supervise children at all times to ensure their safety and well-being.


• Follow the center’s policies, licensing regulations, and health and safety procedures.


• Collaborate with other staff to ensure smooth transitions and continuity of care.


• Communicate effectively and professionally with children, staff, and families.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or higher in Early Childhood Education (ECE), Child Development, or related field preferred.


• Minimum of 12 months experience working with young children in a licensed childcare or preschool setting.


• Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices and positive behavior guidance.


• Ability to adapt quickly to different classroom environments and routines.


• Must pass background check and meet all state and local licensing requirements.


• Current CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) preferred.

Skills and Attributes:

• Dependable, punctual, and professional.


• Flexible and able to work in a variety of classrooms and age groups (infants to preschoolers).


• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.


• Patient, caring, and enthusiastic about working with young children.

Work Schedule:

On-call positions offer flexible scheduling and are assigned based on availability and client center needs. Shifts may vary in length and time of day.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs., bend, kneel, sit on the floor, and stand for extended periods.


• Able to respond quickly to the needs of active children.
