Summary
Our Garber Transportation drivers are passionate about making a difference in people’s lives. We provide safe, reliable transportation for clients, many of whom are older adults experiencing isolation, to medical appointments, errands, and social engagements in the metro area. Hours of operation are between first pick-up at 8:00am to last pick-up at 3:30pm, Monday – Friday (no weekends or holidays when JFCS is closed.)
The On-Call Garber Driver provides transportation services to JFCS clients by covering scheduled shifts when staff drivers are unavailable due to vacations, illness, or other absences. The Transportation/Meals on Wheels Supervisor will provide as much advance notice as possible for driving assignments, recognizing that the on-call driver's availability may vary.
The person who joins us will become part of a long-standing, dedicated team of staff and volunteer drivers who are committed to providing safe, reliable transportation with kindness, professionalism, and respect.

Work Environment/Physical Demands
Must have use of car, valid Minnesota driver’s license, auto insurance with appropriate coverage limits and clean driver record. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds, get in and out of car, assist ambulatory and frail adults getting in and out of car. Frequent oral communication. Occasional lifting, stooping, kneeling, bending or climbing. Works with and around others. Daily use of computer, telephone, and other office equipment. Awareness of and ability to manage time to complete work. Subject to criminal and motor vehicle background checks.
