Oncology Registered Nurse (RN)- Travel Position  
Location: Asheville, NC 
Job Type: Travel Contract   
Duration: 13 weeks  
Shift: 4x10s Days 
Pay: $1946/week  

Job Description:  

We are seeking a compassionate and highly skilled Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) to provide specialized care to patients undergoing cancer treatment. This vital role involves administering chemotherapy, managing symptoms, providing post-operative care, and offering crucial emotional support to patients and their families. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, empathetic, and possesses a strong understanding of oncology care protocols. They must be dedicated to delivering patient-centered care and acting as a key advocate for those navigating a complex and challenging health journey.

Key Responsibilities:  

• Administer and monitor chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and other cancer-related treatments.


• Assess and manage patient symptoms, including pain, nausea, and fatigue.


• Provide pre- and post-operative care for surgical oncology patients.


• Educate patients and their families on treatment plans, potential side effects, and self-care strategies.


• Collaborate with oncologists, surgeons, and the interdisciplinary team to create and implement comprehensive care plans.


• Monitor and document patient conditions, reporting any changes or adverse reactions promptly.


• Adhere to all safety protocols, especially those related to handling hazardous medications.

Qualifications:  

• Active RN license in North Carolina.


• Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.


• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) preferred.


• Minimum of 1-2 years of recent oncology or medical-surgical nursing experience.


• COVID vaccine and recent TB test may be required.
