One to One School Nurse (Day Shift) - RN/LPN

Job description: 

Immediate Need for One to One School Nurses (RN - Registered Nurse) or (LPN- Licensed Practical Nurse) in the Louisville KY area.  Full and Part time shifts for Days Shifts.  Hourly Pay RN: $32-$38 and LPN $28-$32.  

BrightStar Care Louisville is looking for RN/LPN School Nurse for One to One Care to a student in the school district of Jefferson County Public School (JCPS).  The RN/LPN will provide skilled nursing care to a student throughout the school day.  The position will require the nurse to provide care for the same student for the entire school day (M-F).  

Requirements:

• Current unrestricted RN or LPN license in Kentucky


• Pediatric Experience preferred


• Certified CPR and negative TB skin test or chest x-ray


• Minimum one (1) year of documented experience 


• Experience with g-tubes, trachs/vent, seizure monitoring with rescue medications, diabetic care, etc.


• Able to ride bus to and from school with patient


• Must be able to stand walk, squat, bend, kneel, reach, twist, push and pull. Varied assistance is required depending on the mobility of the client. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for g-tubes, trachs/vent, seizure monitoring with rescue medications, diabetic care, etc.


• Able to ride bus to and from school with patient


• Ensure health & safety of student throughout school day 


• Monitor and track changes in the client/patient’s conditions and needs


• Document in EMR (Electronic Medical Record)


• Strong attention to detail, interpersonal and organization skills needed

Salary: $28.00 - $38.00 per hour (Licensed Practical Nurse $28-32) & (Registered Nurse $32-38).  Note: compensation may vary based on skill, experience and location. 

Weekly schedule:

• Monday to Friday (Hours vary on school hours - normally 7AM-3PM or 9AM-5PM

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Louisville, KY: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Experience:

• Nursing: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• BLS Certification (Preferred)
