Eastern Connecticut State University is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the One-Year Temporary Assistant Professor in Mathematics position. Eastern is Connecticut’s Public Liberal Arts University and is located in Willimantic, Connecticut which is 1.5 hours from Boston and 2.5 hours from New York City. Eastern is one of four universities in the Connecticut State College and University System (CSCU). The position also offers substantial health and retirement benefits.

A doctoral degree in mathematics education, mathematics, curriculum development, or a closely related field from a regionally accredited institution is preferred; ABD near completion or Sixth Year Degree may be considered
At least three years teaching experience in elementary education and secondary mathematics; experience teaching either elementary education or secondary mathematics will be considered
Some experience teaching in higher education is preferred
Position Description: Teaching responsibilities include undergraduate and graduate courses in mathematics education (both elementary and secondary) and other teacher certification courses as needed, and in undergraduate mathematics; supervision of teacher candidates in their clinical and student teaching experiences is also required. Candidates will be expected to advise students, participate in department committees, hold regular office hours, engage in scholarly and creative exercises in the Education or Mathematical Sciences Departments, and adhere to all other expectations of a full-time faculty member. All courses are taught in person on campus (no online instruction).

Compensation and Employee Benefits: The Assistant Professor, One-Year Temporary, in Mathematics Education is compensated at the Assistant Professor salary level in accordance with Connecticut State University American Association of University Professors (CSU-AAUP) Collective Bargaining Unit Agreement.
