The Concept:
A pioneering new luxury dining and entertainment concept is opening in Downtown Austin.
This concept will be located in a historic building in Downtown Austin meticulously crafted by a team of visionary high profile interior designers, ensuring every corner of the space resonates with sophistication and style. Within our walls, guests will discover four unique spaces: an Art Deco bar, a Revolutionary War-themed bar, an elegant restaurant, and a dynamic live performance stage.
The Beverage Program will operate at the same level of excellence and refinement as the kitchen catering to liquor aficionados and patrons with a preference for zero proof cocktails with equal attention to detail.
Music is an essential part of the experience with a state-of-the-art sound system throughout the venue guarantees an immersive auditory experience, enhancing both the atmosphere and the performances. The theater room at will serve as a beacon for unique, intimate performances, including musicians, stand-up comedy, spoken word, jazz, world-renowned DJs, and a live speaker series during SXSW. This space will feature international and local talent, handpicked and exceptionally curated by our Director of Sound, promising a diverse lineup of events that cater to a wide range of interests.
Position Overview:
We seek a General Manager & Director of Operations who shares our passion for new culinary adventures and has a proven track record in upscale hospitality management. This role involves comprehensive oversight of operations, including collaboration with the chef for menu engineering to ensure innovation and excellence in our culinary offerings. The ideal candidate will have experience in opening high-end restaurants and a talent for embracing and promoting innovative hospitality concepts. This leadership position requires exceptional management skills, a dedication to operational excellence, and a commitment to delivering a top luxury experience.
Pre-Opening Responsibilities:
- Team buildout: Hiring and managing the bulk of the Front of House Team including other members of management such as Beverage Director and Director of Experiential Programming.
- Procurement: Identifying and purchasing Front of House and general restaurant supplies
as well as opening inventories.
- Systems and Training: Developing training protocols and manuals as well as standard procedures and other operation systems to assure efficient operations and reporting once
Ongoing Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Oversee all operational aspects, from team development to daily service, embodying our luxury ethos in every action.
- Operational Excellence: Maintain the highest standards of service and quality daily, enforcing company policies and procedures.
- Financial Management: Direct financial operations, including budgeting, inventory, purchasing, and variance analysis, to meet our financial goals.
- Menu Collaboration: Work closely with the chef to ensure the menu that reflects companys commitment to plant-based luxury, ensuring culinary innovation and excellence while honoring our sustainability goals and avoiding waste with particular focus on guest feedback and FOH training.
- Beverage Program: Maintain menus and inventories of thoughtful drinks consisting of wine, beer and cocktails, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic.
- Quality Assurance: Uphold strict standards for production, quality, and customer service, ensuring compliance with all health, safety, and legal regulations.
- Customer Satisfaction: Ensure an exceptional experience, promptly addressing any concerns to guarantee satisfaction.
Anticipated Start Date:
Immediate; to play a pivotal role in the pre-opening phase and contribute to a successful launch.
Qualifications:
- Proven leadership in the luxury hospitality sector, with experience opening upscale dining venues. Minimum of 3-5 years in a similar senior level position.
- Exceptional financial, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to problem solve in real time.
- Ability to lead a team with little or no guidance.
- Possession of all appropriate food and beverage handlers certifications, etc. - Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices.
- Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or a related field is preferred.
