Operating Room Registered Nurse (Scrubs OR-RN)

Join our highly skilled surgical team as an Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR-RN), where your expertise will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional patient care during surgical procedures. As a vital member of the surgical team, you will provide pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative nursing care, ensuring that each patient achieves optimal surgical outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare the operating room with necessary surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies.
• Assist in patient positioning and functioning during procedures.
• Monitor patient vital signs and provide direct care throughout surgery.
• Collaborate with surgical teams and communicate patient needs effectively.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and best practices.
• Educate patients and their families regarding post-operative care and recovery.
• Participate in the development and implementation of the patient’s care plan.
• Maintain a sterile environment while adhering to infection control practices.
• Document patient care accurately in electronic health records.

• Required Qualifications:

• Active and unrestricted RN license (any U.S. state)
• 3+ years of recent OR experience, with no more than a 6-month break
• Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE-accredited nursing program
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association)
• Experience in both scrub and circulating nurse duties
• Familiarity with surgeries in: ortho, vascular, ENT, thoracic, neuro, GU, and general surgery
• Preferred Qualifications
• BSN degree
• CNOR certification
• Prior experience working with VA hospitals or other federal healthcare systems
• Ability to support and mentor junior OR staff
