Operations & Sales Manager – Industrial Distribution / Wholesale
Doral, Florida | Full-Time | On-Site | Bilingual English / Spanish Required
ABOUT AMERICAN SUPPLY
American Supply is a privately held wholesale welding and industrial supply company serving distributors in the U.S. and Latin America. We are adding a hands-on Operations & Sales Manager to strengthen execution, accountability, and coordination across the business.
We are looking for a practical operator who can manage the managers, keep priorities moving, strengthen sales execution, and make sure day-to-day commitments actually get completed.
THE ROLE
The Operations & Sales Manager will own day-to-day execution across sales, warehouse operations, and office administration. The role will translate leadership priorities into clear actions, inspect follow-through, remove bottlenecks, and ensure department leaders are actively managing their teams.
The position will manage the Sales Manager, Office Manager, and Warehouse Supervisor while working closely with the CEO and ownership. The CEO and ownership will retain company strategy, major customer/vendor relationships, financial strategy, pricing authority, and overall P&L accountability.
Success in this role means fewer routine issues reaching ownership, stronger manager accountability, better sales follow-through, and a business that runs consistently every day.
- KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Own the daily operating rhythm across Sales, Warehouse, and Administration.
- Manage and develop the Sales Manager, Office Manager, and Warehouse Supervisor.
- Run consistent daily and weekly follow-up so priorities, commitments, and open issues do not stall.
- Hold department leaders accountable for deadlines, team performance, attendance, and established processes.
- Ensure employee attendance, performance, and behavioral issues are addressed promptly through the appropriate manager.
- Coordinate priorities between Sales, Warehouse, Purchasing, and Administration so customer commitments can be executed.
- Strengthen sales execution by reviewing sales by representative, open quotes, quote aging, pipeline activity, follow-up, and conversion.
- Ensure the Sales Manager and sales team maintain clear account plans, territory priorities, customer follow-up, and next actions.
- Track open orders, backorders, purchasing needs, vendor delays, and fulfillment risks until they are resolved.
- Improve warehouse execution, receiving, picking, staging, shipping, inventory discipline, and operational reliability.
- Monitor staffing levels and coordinate hiring, temporary labor, scheduling, and coverage when needed.
- Use QuickBooks Enterprise and management reports to maintain visibility into open quotes, sales by rep, purchase orders, proformas, open invoices, and order status.
- Establish simple operational KPIs and maintain concise daily, weekly, and monthly reporting for leadership.
- Identify recurring problems, determine root causes, assign ownership, and follow through until corrective actions are complete.
- Keep approved processes consistent and coordinate implementation of process or system changes across departments.
- Escalate material customer, financial, legal, safety, or strategic matters to the CEO while independently managing routine execution.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- 5+ years of progressive operations, sales management, or business management experience, preferably in industrial distribution, wholesale, manufacturing distribution, logistics, MRO, welding supply, or a related environment.
- Demonstrated experience managing supervisors, managers, or department leads.
- Strong day-to-day execution and follow-through; able to turn priorities into actions and verify completion.
- Experience holding teams accountable for performance, attendance, deadlines, and process compliance.
- Practical sales-management experience, including pipeline visibility, quote follow-up, customer activity, and sales-rep accountability.
- Strong understanding of warehouse/distribution operations and order fulfillment.
- Comfort addressing difficult personnel issues and having direct performance conversations.
- Strong cross-functional coordination skills across Sales, Warehouse, Purchasing, and Administration.
- Comfort working with business reports, KPIs, Excel, Microsoft Teams, email, and operational systems.
- Experience with QuickBooks Enterprise or another ERP/accounting platform is helpful.
- Experience working in a privately held, founder-led, or entrepreneurial company strongly preferred.
- Ability to operate effectively without large corporate support teams or layers of infrastructure.
- Professional fluency in both English and Spanish is required.
- THE PERSON WHO WILL SUCCEED HERE
You are likely a strong fit if you enjoy bringing structure and accountability to an entrepreneurial business without adding unnecessary bureaucracy.
You can move comfortably from reviewing open quotes with the Sales Manager, to checking an order bottleneck with the Warehouse Supervisor, to coaching the Office Manager through a staffing issue.
You naturally operate by asking: What needs to happen? Who owns it? When is it due? Did it get done?
THIS ROLE IS PROBABLY NOT FOR YOU IF
You want a strategy-only role or are accustomed to working only in large corporate environments with separate HR, Finance, Operations, Sales Operations, and Analytics teams.
This role requires someone who stays close enough to the business to know what is happening, manages through department leaders, and follows issues through to closure without becoming the person who does everyone else's job.
