POSITION DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a candidate that can work 8:30am-5:30pm Mon-Fri. Joyful Journey is open Mon-Fri 8am-5:30pm. This means no nights or weekends!

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Friend and Family Care
Review each new Friend File for correct and complete content. Create a care plan and snapshot for each Friend upon enrollment.
Assist and guide the care team regarding personal care and mobility of Friends
Create and assess charting for medication monitoring, restroom assistance, and activity logs for Friends after initial enrollment.
Act as the main point of contact to family caregivers regarding Friend care
Coordinate Family satisfaction surveys annually
Prepare materials for and assist with caregiver conferences
Provide direct care and supervision of Friends. Monitor, supervise, and/or assist with all Activities of Daily Living, providing hands-on assistance as needed according to each Friend’s plan of care.
Maintain environmental health, safety and sanitation standards. Follow infection control procedures at all times in order to maintain safe and hazard-free conditions
Enrollment Coordination
Coordinate the Friend enrollment process ensuring incoming Friends and families have an exemplary experience. Provide integral support during the families first visit.
Manage and update the enrollment tracking spreadsheet; call inquiries and provide time sensitive follow-up with families.
Ensure Friend files are complete and up to date prior to first day of attendance, generate all necessary charting paperwork upon Friend enrollment.
Complete Friend graduation paperwork, close file and archive
Volunteer Coordination
Recruit and interview prospective volunteers
Oversee all paperwork and clearances needed for volunteers
Coordinate volunteer onboarding and weekly schedules in partnership with the Program Director, identifying opportunities for the best skill matches for program and Friend needs.
Monitor and evaluate volunteer performance. Give positive corrective guidance as needed.
Track volunteer hours and provide monthly reports to the Executive Director.
Human Resource Management
Assist with onboarding and continuing education for Program Assistants (PAs) Supervise Program Assistants in absence of Program Director.
Assist with quarterly review process for each PA
Make recommendations regarding hiring, firing, advancement, promotion or any other change of status for Team members
Additional Tasks
Assist Executive Director with marketing and public relation activities, including community education programs and social media
Certify as a ServSafe Food Safety Manager and assist with food service as needed.
Maintain house supply list. Shop for house and program supplies
EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred: Degree in Health and Human Services, related field or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience
Minimum 2 years of supervisory or team leadership experience
Minimum three (3) years of related experience working with elderly, memory-impaired, and/or disabled persons providing activity programming and support for all Activities of Daily Living.
Ability to manage time and projects independently with professional discretion
Demonstrated proficiency with office applications and technology: electronic mail, social media applications, MS Office software applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Preferred: experience with Google Drive
Provide excellent service by working joyfully and tactfully with fellow team members, volunteers, Friends, caregivers, and the general public
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Understand and adhere to HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act) regulations
Demonstrated ability to work with others from diverse ethnic, cultural, socioeconomic, spiritual and age backgrounds
Certified in CPR, First Aid, and AED (after employment, if necessary)
Must pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screen, criminal background check, physical, and TB screen. Must be current with covid-19 vaccinations or willing to complete vaccination. All job offers are contingent upon passing these pre-employment screenings.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Physically able to respond to Friend needs (lifting up to 25 lbs, standing, sitting, bending)
Able to be on your feet and active over 50% of each day
