Operations Engineer, Space Planner

About the Team

Anduril’s Space Planning team is seeking an Operations Engineer, Space Planner to join the team. The Space Planning team is responsible for optimizing layouts and designs for R&D facilities, ensuring efficient workflows, and minimizing wasted space, all while adhering to safety and regulatory standards.

As an Operations Manager, you will conduct site assessments and develop detailed space plans collaborating with various stakeholders across the business. The right candidate has a history of managing multiple projects providing creative solutions that will optimize efficiency.

About the Job

Anduril is a rapidly growing company seeking an experienced and dynamic individual to join our team as an Industrial Space Planner of Southern California. We are looking for an engineer to partner closely with cross-functional stakeholders to investigate space supply and demand and ensure that every square foot of space supports operational efficiency, safety, and scalability. This role requires a balance of technical space planning skills and the ability to navigate a complex and high-demand environment.

What You’ll Do

• Maintain accurate information and coordinate space planning decisions within Southern California facilities


• Create block plans, and test fits for warehouse, lab, and production spaces using AutoCAD and other planning tools


• Partner with key stakeholders in production, engineering, and facilities to gather spatial requirements and translate them into actionable designs and plans


• Evaluate incoming space demand and prioritize high-impact needs from low-priority asks


• Support infrastructure planning (e.g., equipment layout, utilities, airflow, and EHS clearances)


• Ensure space plans align with operational workflows, adjacencies, and compliance requirements


• Create relocation strategies and solutions for our internal customers and communicate effectively with all parties involved in each exchange


• Collaborate with the Moves, Adds, and Change (MAC) team for implementation and change tracking


• Contribute to space forecasting, scenario modeling, and long-term planning efforts for growth or reconfiguration

Required Qualifications

• Previous experience in industrial, manufacturing, supply chain or production environment


• Proficiency in CAD software, ArcGIS, Archibus, Power BI, JIRA and/or similar space planning software


• Experience with lean, six sigma, and other related production principles


• Strong understanding of spatial layout principles, workflow optimization, and infrastructure coordination


• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills


• Ability to manage multiple requests and prioritize effectively under pressure


• Must be authorized to work in the United States

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience or education in management science and engineering, operations engineering, operations research, or industrial engineering


• Familiarity with space management systems


• Experience with project coordination or execution of space moves and reconfigurations


• Background in facilities, industrial engineering, or workplace strategy

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
