Job Description - Operations Manager

Run the floor for a food manufacturing operation that touches every aspect of production, and shape how the plant performs day to day.

What You Will Do


As Operations Manager, you will lead 1st and 2nd shift production, setting the plant's continuous improvement vision and holding the line on safety, quality, and productivity. You will work closely with production planning and materials management, and step in as Plant Manager when the role calls for it.


Responsibilities:



  • Implement plant-specific vision to assure continuous improvement

  • Achieve safe plant working conditions, including a zero lost time accident mentality

  • Direct production supervisors on their roles and responsibilities across 1st and 2nd shift

  • Promote employee engagement and development to maximize manufacturing, quality, and productivity goals

  • Communicate results and daily action plans to all employees and managers

  • Temporarily fill the Plant Manager role when needed

  • Collaborate with production planning and materials management to improve scheduled completion and customer service

  • Initiate cost savings measures relating to crewing, standards, and yields

  • Ensure all quality and regulatory standards, specifications, and policies are met

  • Report food safety issues to management

  • Manage production ERP system execution


Who You Are


You bring hands-on food manufacturing leadership experience and a positive, high-initiative approach to the plant floor. You communicate clearly across shifts and departments, and you're comfortable stepping into broader plant leadership as needed.


Qualifications:



  • Bachelor of Science in food science, engineering, or related field

  • Minimum of 5 years of food manufacturing experience

  • USDA or FDA food manufacturing experience

  • Leadership/supervisory experience

  • Positive attitude with strong initiative

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
