At APEX, a Diverzify company, we believe our associates are at the heart of our organization. As a Surface Care Specialist, you will work with a team of maintenance staff to take care of different types of floors for our clients, such as wood, vinyl, linoleum, tile, and carpet. You will make sure the floors are clean and shiny by using various methods, such as dusting, mopping, stripping, waxing, buffing, shampooing, and bonneting. You should also be able to work on both large and small projects in commercial and industrial settings.

Requirements

Here’s what we are looking for…  

• Supervise nighttime crews on job sites 
• Prepare equipment and chemical supplies for daily tasks 
• Track and manage inventory 
• Complete nightly operational reports 
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols 
• Lead crews to fulfill work orders 
• Communicate with clients before and after jobs 
• Maintain daily communication with Operations Manager scheduling, daily job progress,  
• Ensure all jobs are completed in a quality, professional manner 
• Oversee technician training 
• Upkeep of all vehicles and equipment as well as inventory levels 
• Supervise the morale of the technician team 
• Supervise technician availability 
• Keep technicians updated daily on projects and job status 
• Ensure all techs are in uniform 
• Perform duties as related surface maintenance and the scope of work required 
• Assume other responsibilities from time to time as directed by management 
• Ensure the equipment and shop are neat and orderly at all times 
• Attend and participate in all required operations meetings 
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures 
• Set up jobs each night with crew members 
• Be a respected coach for technicians. Treat them fair, firm and with clear expectations 

Job Requirements:  

• Valid driver’s license and good driving record 
• Good written and verbal communication skills 
• Polite, friendly, pleasant and outgoing demeanor with a neat, clean appearance 
• Ability to track multiple projects 
• Ability to work flexible hours unsupervised 
• Ability to demonstrate superior knowledge, skills and processes of our flooring maintenance system to your team and customers 
• Ability to work in a combination of normal office type environments and shop environments 
• Ability to handle regular exposure to dust, odors, oil, fumes and noise 
• Ability to drive from site to site on a daily basis 
• Ability to wear safety glasses, respirators, fall protection, gloves required while performing certain tasks  
• Schedule time includes but not limited to 3:00pm to 11:00pm 
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs 
• Ability to regularly sit, stand, walk, use hands to handle and feel, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear 

Preferred Qualifications:   

• OSHA 10 certified  
• IICRC certified
