PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; bend; stoop; climb; stand and walk. The employee must be able to negotiate numerous flights of stairs as well as utilize escalators and other mechanical conveyances. Precise speech and hearing for radio and phone communication. Hearing ability must meet the standards / levels, as required by the Department of Transportation guidelines. Vision must accommodate fine print and ability to distinguish colors. Vision must be compatible for night driving. During some phases of job duties incumbent must drive/ride in a vehicle for an extended period of time. The employee must be able to reach with hands, arms and have the finger dexterity to work with keys, office equipment, radios, etc. This employee must be available for after hour emergencies and extensive weather related events.
CONDITIONS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed general office noise as well as sounds associated with equipment and radio alarms. Exposure to flashing lights, noise, fuels and chemicals associated with aircraft, heavy equipment, and vehicles. The employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts as well as aircraft. The employee will work both inside and outside, regardless of weather conditions. The position will consist of shift work, seven days a week, including holidays on a rotating basis. Subject to remain on duty beyond normal hours or be recalled to duty up to 24 hours per day, seven days a week during emergency situations or other extensive periods.
MEDICAL EXAMINATION
Employment is contingent upon the results of a post-offer (initial employment or promotion) physical examination performed by the Authority’s examining physician.
DRUG TESTING
Employment is contingent upon the results of a post-offer (initial employment or promotion) drug screening. Continued employment may be subject to drug and alcohol testing conducted without advance notice and without individualized suspicion.
PRE-EMPLOYMENT BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION
Must pass a thorough investigation, consisting of a criminal history check (including but not limited to the requirements of CFR 1542.209 and 1542.3), verification of prior employment and performance, reference and credentials checks.
