Under limited supervision, performs duties as listed below, following established procedure.
- Works independently and within a team on special nonrecurring and ongoing projects, which may include planning, coordinating and disseminating information.
- Reviews and manages the Standard Operating Procedure update process.
- Performs regular GMP training for new employees and managers.
- Manages QC Technicians on day shifts and acts as primary backup to their functions.
- Trains and directs QC Technicians in auditing and daily functions of packaging oversight and sample collection.
- Reviews and prepares daily samples for laboratory testing.
- Performs laboratory test failure investigations.
- Reviews and audits employee training records; follows up on training compliance and completion.
- Collects data, develops reports, analyzes data, and presents conclusions to managers and executives.
- Records and charts processes to help identify knowledge and system gaps.
- Coordinates special projects for Quality Assurance group.
- Occasionally performs QC audits.
- Responsible for overseeing sanitation practices to ensure equipment and facilities meet acceptable quality standards.
Additional Responsibilities
- Support of and involvement in company, department, and/or safety policies, procedures, programs and activities.
- Assists in developing teamwork to attain department objectives.
- Trains new Quality Assurance Technicians as .
- Maintenance of a clean and orderly work area.
- May be to drive personal vehicle for job related purposes.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university preferred, with two years' experience, or combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, and database software .
- Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts and apply concepts such as fractions, proportions, percentages, ratios, and volume to practical situations. Ability to deal with problems involving several abstract and/or concrete variables.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Employee must obtain and maintain a current Food Handlers Permit.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; and taste or smell.
- The employee must exert up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include near acuity, far acuity, depth perception, accommodation, color vision, and field of vision.
- May be exposed to considerable noise from machinery.
