JOB SUMMARY
The Operations Technology (OT) Analyst will support the strategy, design, implementation, and maintenance of an effective Manufacturing Execution System (MES) architecture that guides, triggers, and reports on plant activities as events occur. Employee will manage the workflow to efficiently and consistently manufacture high quality products, monitors, controls, and optimize the overall production process. The position will be a critical part of AFL’s Operational Excellence strategy, providing hands-on development and implementation of MES solutions to monitor and control core manufacturing processes, and providing essential manufacturing intelligence for problem solving and continuous improvement initiatives. The position will work directly with I.T. and Controls Engineering to integrate the MES system with ERP functionality and shop floor interfaces (SCADA/PLC).
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES AND RESULTING OUTCOMES
Configure and Support the PLEX MES and A&O system to support critical business strategies.
Support Manufacturing on the efficient use of PLEX MES; provide technical input to help troubleshoot issues during PLEX MES usage and support end-users in PLEX MES navigation, execution and general system utilization to ensure users become self-sufficient.
Work with Mechatronics teams to provide a seamless integration between A&O systems and plant PLC’s.
Work closely with internal resources from e.g. IT, Technology, and Operations on designing, implementing, and maintaining effective system support for efficient and effective manufacturing execution.
Oversee a system for using data from the shop floor to maintain and communicate status information on shop orders and work centers.
Data analysis for support in continuous improvement activities.
Learn and understand the system processes and procedures of the PLEX MES system
Perform routine tasks/troubleshooting for the PLEX MES applications including:
User Management – Add/Disable users, change permissions.
Printer / Barcode Management.
Terminal Management – Configuring terminals for use of the PLEX MES Application so that they are utilizing the correct profiles for whatever process area they are being used in and have access to any relevant printers.
Perform and assist with planning and support activities associated with bringing new process areas on-board throughout the year
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of an associate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Operations Management or similar field required.
3 years’ experience within MES/SCADA arena (Plex by Rockwell Automation experience strongly preferred)
Demonstrated Experience in MES specification and implementation
Experience with PLC (AB / Siemens / GE) a positive
Skills and Abilities
