Operator - Runout

-​Torch Machine & Cutting Operations: Operate automatic and manual torch machine controls to ensure accurate, consistent slab cutting. Utilize HMI systems and Level 2 programs to verify slab cut lengths, monitor torch performance throughout casting, and perform manual slab cutting (head crops, tail scraps, macro cuts) as needed.

-Dummy Bar Systems Management: Prepare, size, install, and remove dummy bar heads according to QSOPs. Operate automatic/manual controls on the dummy bar retriever and control panel (054) to ensure proper slab separation. 

-Quality & Strand Equipment Maintenance: Monitor slab deburring/flash trimming operations and perform visual inspections of slab kerfs. Manage nitrogen filling, installation, removal, and maintenance for strand checker units.

-​Equipment Care & Work Area Safety: Inspect and replace spray nozzles, safely operate forklifts, perform routine area maintenance, and maintain clean, hazard-free work areas (including runout area and 500 level).
