Operator - Seating

The Seat Assembly Operator is responsible for assembling automotive seating components and complete seat systems in accordance with established production standards, quality requirements, safety guidelines, and customer specifications. This position operates in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and is expected to meet production targets while maintaining high standards of quality and workplace safety. 

Essential functions of the job:

• Assemble automotive seat components, subassemblies, and complete seat systems according to standardized work instructions.                            


•   Install seat covers, foam cushions, headrests, armrests, trim components, electrical harnesses, and mechanical assemblies.


• Operate hand tools, pneumatic tools, electric tools, fixtures, and assembly equipment.


• Follow production schedules and takt times to meet customer demand and delivery requirements.


• Rotate through multiple workstations as required.


• Perform visual and functional inspections of assembled products.


• Verify parts and materials meet specifications before assembly.


• Identify, contain, and report defective materials or quality concerns.


• Follow quality procedures and documentation requirements.


• Support continuous improvement activities to reduce defects and improve efficiency.


• Work collaboratively with team members, maintenance, quality, and leadership. 


• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives. 


• Crosstrain in multiple assembly operations.

  Support plant goals related to safety, quality, delivery, cost, and morale.

  
  

  Required Education:



• High School Graduate

  *Equivalent work experience may also be considered for certain positions.

  
  

  Required qualifications:



• 1 -3 Minimum Years of Manufacturing Experience. Less Than 1 Minimum Years of Experience within the automotive industry.


• Must be able and willing to travel and work at customer sites, including industrial manufacturing plants which might require climbing, lifting, or working in confined spaces.
