Ophthalmic Scribe (No Weekends/No Holidays + $1,000 Signing Bonus)

We are an established vision and ophthalmology center with several locations in Florida. Our board-certified eye physicians and optical team offer compassionate, personalized treatments for common and complex eye conditions and uphold a dedication to patient care that is simply second to none.

The ideal candidate will have at least 2-3 years of experience as an ophthalmic scribe in a successful ophthalmology practice. As an ophthalmic scribe in our state-of-the-art practice, you will need to:

• Accurately and thoroughly document ophthalmic exams and procedures as they are being performed by the physician.
• List all appropriate diagnoses and symptoms as well as follow-up instructions and prescriptions as directed by the physician
• Provide patients and/or family members with instructions for self-care and follow-up as directed by the physician
• Coordinate patient scheduling and monitor patient flow throughout the office, properly communicating delays
• Performs patient testing accurately and effectively as directed by the clinical provider(s) i.e. Slit Lamp Exam, PAMS, Visual Fields, Color Test, Tonometry, OCT’s, Fundus Photos, etc.
• If assigned to a retina specialist assists retina physician(s) with intraocular injections as needed
• Effectively communicates physician instructions to patients and documents accordingly
• Assists the physician with pharmacy calls, patient calls, etc.
• Ensures the scheduling template is being followed correctly
• Ensures all patient lanes are clean and well-stocked at the end of each day
• Ensures all equipment is turned off and covered properly at the end of the day
• Completes tech station duties daily
• Call in Rx’s – Only certified ophthalmic techs can ERx. The exception is the tech can ERx if scribing for a doctor and the script is done under the doctor’s name
• Must understand sterile technique

Requirements

The successful candidate will have experience with

• At least 1 year of Ophthalmic Scribe experience
• Various diagnostic tests (Fundus photos, OCT, Visuals)
