Job Description - Ophthalmic Technician - We will train

Description

Mountain View Eye Center is a nationally recognized and progressive ophthalmic medical and surgical practice. We are currently seeking a dedicated Ophthalmic Technician to join our experienced team. Our practice is known for its advanced technology, diverse surgical services, and exceptional patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support ophthalmologists by performing clinical functions, including patient workups and special testing
  • Document and summarize ocular examinations and physician recommendations accurately
  • Maintain smooth patient flow and provide updates regarding appointment status
  • Administer eye medications and instruct patients on care and treatment of eye conditions
  • Assist with in-office procedures, lasers, and apply eye dressings when needed
  • Sterilize and maintain ophthalmic instruments and equipment
  • Help patients with insertion and removal of contact lenses
  • Provide patient education and ensure understanding of physician instructions
  • Observe and respond to both verbal and non-verbal patient communication

Prior experience in ophthalmology is a plus but not required. We will train the right candidate.


Requirements

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and G-Suite environments.
  • Willing to help in all areas, have the flexibility, and effectively work in a team environment.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated excellence in communication skills, and ability to convey ideas and information verbally and in writing
  • Professional appearance, strong interpersonal skills, and patient confidentiality.
  • A strong organization with an attention to detail.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Maintains appropriate education, certification, licensure, and training if applicable.
