Position Overview:


We are seeking a passionate ophthalmologist to join our dedicated team. You will play a key role in maintaining our reputation for exceptional patient service and surgical outcomes. Our practice offers a wide variety of eye surgical services, utilizing both standard and advanced technology lenses for cataract surgeries.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the preoperative diagnosis of the patient, for performing the operation, and for providing the patient with postoperative surgical care and treatment. The surgeon is also looked upon as the leader of the surgical team.
  • During the course of an operation, the surgeon must make important decisions about the patient's health, safety, and welfare.
  • Provide quality and appropriateness of care; evaluate performance standards, advise on how to best resolve medical concerns; counsel with physicians and management as needed.
  • Analyze the patient's medical history, medication allergies, physical condition, and examination results to verify the operation's necessity and to determine the best procedure.
  • Prescribe preoperative and postoperative treatments and procedures, such as sedatives, diets, antibiotics, and preparation and treatment of the patient's operative area.
  • Update charts and patient information to show current findings and treatments.
  • Order tests for nurses or other healthcare staff to perform.
  • Review test results to identify any abnormal findings.
  • Recommend and design a plan of treatment.
  • Address concerns or answer questions that patients have about their health and well-being.
  • Participate in the orientation and coaching of new physicians.

Requirements

Skills/Abilities:

  • An unrestricted and current license to practice medicine in the state of employment (or the ability to obtain one).
  • Demonstrated success in implementing utilization and quality improvement strategies/techniques.
  • Substantial experience and expertise in the development of medical policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Qualifications to perform clinical oversight for the services provided by the organization include but are not limited to; education, training, or professional experience in medical practice.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and demonstrated ability in performance management, coaching, and staff development.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Strong clinical and surgical skills
  • A dedication to providing excellent patient care
  • A collaborative mindset and commitment to teamwork

Education and Experience:

  • Five (5) plus years of experience in direct patient care
  • Board-certified or board-eligible ophthalmologist
