ADVERTISING TITLE: OPS Administrative Assistance I


 


This open competitive advertisement is for an OPS position located at Central Office in Tallahassee in the Office of the Inspector General


 


Our mission in the Office of the Inspector General at the Florida Department of Corrections is to protect and to promote public integrity and accountability within the Department through investigations, audits, and inspections. We aim to detect and prevent fraud, waste, abuse, and misconduct, ensuring that the Department operates efficiently and effectively while upholding.


 


This position is not a telework position and is required to report to the FDC office in the area it serves.


 


JOB DUTIES:



  • Provide assistance to supervisors/managers with reviewing and processing forensic laboratory reports and assigned incident reports. 

  • Provide assistance to supervisors/managers with various database system access for sworn/civilian staff.

  • Performing data entry and record-keeping tasks in multiple databases.   

  • Review, print, and triage completed forensic laboratory reports for further assignment.

  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive documents and investigative information.

  • Answering phones, screening calls, and directing inquiries.

  • Assist with various analytic functions including review of recorded phone calls, emails, and message review as requested

  • Performs related work, as required


 


BENEFITS:



  • OPS employees who work an average of 30 hours or more per week are
    eligible to enroll in state group insurance plans. Standard PPO/HMO
    Options include:
          o     Employee Only: $25 biweekly
          o     Spouse Program: $15 biweekly
          o     Employee & Family: $90 biweekly.

  • Dental - FDC offers five separate dental plans with multiple options and rates
    for each plan type with monthly premiums as low as $12.64.

  • Vision - FDC offers one single vision plan through Humana with monthly
    premiums as low as $5.92.

  • Life - FDC offers a $25,000 group term life insurance plan to eligible OPS staff
    through Securian at the low monthly premium of $3.78. When enrolled in basic
    life, employees may also elect child life and spouse life insurance plans.

  • Retirement - As an OPS employee, the Florida FICA Alternative Plan with Core
    bridge Financial affords you an excellent opportunity to help accumulate money
    for a secure retirement. You contribute 7.5% of your compensation to this tax
    deferred plan. All OPS employees


REQUIREMENTS:


Please note, when submitting a college/university degree, if selected for this position official transcripts will be required.



  • Must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent

  • One year of experience working in an administrative or office support role.

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license

BACKGROUND SCREENING REQUIREMENT
