The Work You Will Do:


This position is located within the Division of Regulation, Tallahassee Regional Office. This position is responsible for analyzing incoming complaints for alleged violations of Florida Statutes and Board Rules governing a variety of professions regulated by the Department.


 


Your Specific Responsibilities:



  • Analyzes and processes complaints received by the Department to determine the agency of appropriate jurisdiction. 

  •  Identifies possible violations of Florida Statutes and Rules, obtains sufficient documentation, verifies licensure, researches prior complaint history, and obtains other information necessary to determine legal sufficiency; refers appropriate correspondence and cases to investigative field office or legal staff with written analysis citing specific possible violation of the pertinent practice acts.

  • Consults with, assists, and acts as liaison between and among the professional boards, complainants, licensees, consultants, and other governmental agencies when necessary; periodically attends probable cause panel meetings, and attends training when applicable to enhance professional development and expertise.

  • Assists with the switchboard as needed.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:



  • An incumbent must be able to communicate clearly and effectively both in verbal and written forms.

  • Possess analytical skills necessary to identify violations of statutes and rules, and identify elements of the alleged violations. 

  • Must be proficient in the use of computers and other devices.

  • Proficient in windows based computer software programs, i.e. Microsoft Word and Excel.

  • Ability to organize data into logical format for presentation in reports, documents and other written materials. 


Minimum Requirements: 



  • Experience formatting, editing and creating comprehensive correspondence using Microsoft Office and e-mail correspondence using Microsoft Outlook; and

  • A valid Driver License is required.


 


Preferred:



  • High School Diploma or its equivalent;



  • Experience in a regulatory field.

  • Proficient in using OnBase and Versa Regulation.

  • Knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply applicable Florida Statutes, laws, policies and procedures.
