The Work You Will Do:
The Division of State Lands, as Florida's lead agency for environmental management and stewardship, serves as staff to the Board of Trustees of the Internal Improvement Trust Fund (Governor and Cabinet). As such, the division's role goes far beyond just acquiring lands for protection. It provides oversight for the management of activities on more than 12 million acres of public lands including lakes, rivers and islands. These public lands help ensure all Florida's residents and visitors can truly appreciate the state's unique landscapes.

The Land and Recreation Grants Section's programs assist Florida's local communities that have unmet financial needs for conservation and recreation. The Section administers four state and federal grant programs:
* Florida Communities Trust (FCT) - Parks and Open Space and Stan Mayfield Working Waterfronts Programs
* Florida Recreation Development Assistance Program (FRDAP)
* Recreational Trails Program (RTP)
* Land and Water Conservation Fund Program (LWCF)

Pay: $23.00 per hour
Your Specific Responsibilities:
The Division of State Lands (DSL) is seeking a highly motivated individual with strong planning and organizational skills for a full-time (40 hours per week), OPS Government Operations Consultant II position.
This position provides support to the LRGS Programs.
* Supports LRGS in coordination efforts with various internal program areas and external agencies
* Provides assistance to analyze, maintain and reconcile financial data for internal review and grant closeout process
* Assists with the development of periodic financial and status reports utilizing department and federal agency systems
* Performs a quality assurance review of closed grant records to ensure the accuracy and integrity of information and uploads closeout packages to OCULUS
* Identifies discrepancies between database information and records and provides recommendation for changes or improvements
* Compiles standard operating procedures for general grants management processes and provides support for standard operating procedure development with specific programs
* Assists with workshops for the Program area
* Assists with stewardship/outreach efforts
* Additional tasks in support of LRGS as assigned
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
* Best Management Practices for office management
* Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
* Solid understanding of financial principles
* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
* Conduct and coordinate various planning and research projects simultaneously
* Prepare reports and records
* Collect, evaluate and analyze data to develop alternative recommendations, solve problems, document workflow and other activities relating to the improvement of operational and management practices
* Organize data into logical format for presentation in reports, documents and written materials
* Communicate effectively verbally and in writin.
* Understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures
* Determine work priorities and ensure proper completion of work assignments
* Solve problems and make decisions
* Utilize problem solving techniques
* Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
* Work independently
