Optometry Technician (bilingual)

The Mission Neighborhood Health Center (MNHC) is a non-profit, multi-site community health organization offering comprehensive health services in the Mission and Excelsior Districts of San Francisco.  The center offers primary health care services, adult medicine, pediatrics, family planning, OB/GYN, HIV and homeless services. We are currently looking for qualified candidates for our Optometry Technician role. Please note: this role requires an applicant to be bilingual (English/Spanish). This position reports to the Director of Optometry and is a Regular, Full Time, Non-Exempt role with a starting hourly rate range of $25.16.00 to $27.04 with full benefits. 

Primary Objective:
As an Optometry Technician, you will interact with and support patients of all ages to ensure smooth patient flow and provide excellent care and service.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

• Bilingual in Spanish and English.
• 1+ years of experience preferred but not required as training can be provided on the job.
• Willingness to learn and grow in the role is key since most of the tasks can be learned in the job and/or taught by the Optometry Director.
• Ability to multi-task with excellent organizational skills and effective team dynamics, flexibility and collaboration.
• Knowledge of clinical operations and patient confidentiality and willingness to teach and providing instruction to patients.
• Ability to establish effective working relationships with patients and peers.
• Adherence to infection control protocols and practices  .
