Operating Room Circulating Registered Nurse – Travel Position

Pay: $2,588/week

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Operating Room Circulating Registered Nurse to join on a travel contract in Oconomowoc, WI. The Circulating Nurse will be responsible for coordinating care before, during, and after surgical procedures, ensuring patient safety and supporting the surgical team. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, adaptable, and experienced in handling a variety of surgical cases in a hospital setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess patients prior to surgery and verify required documentation and consents.


• Prepare the operating room with necessary equipment, instruments, and supplies.


• Circulate during surgical procedures, maintaining a sterile environment and anticipating the needs of the surgical team.


• Monitor patient safety and condition throughout the procedure.


• Document nursing care, patient status, and intraoperative events accurately.


• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical technologists to ensure optimal outcomes.


• Provide post-operative care instructions and assist with patient recovery and transfer.

Qualifications:

• Current and valid Registered Nurse license in Wisconsin (or compact license).


• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Associate Degree in Nursing or Bachelor of Science in Nursing).


• Minimum of 1 year of recent Operating Room circulating experience.


• Current certification in Basic Life Support (Advanced Cardiac Life Support preferred).


• COVID-19 vaccine and recent tuberculosis test.


• Strong organizational, communication, and critical thinking skills.


• Ability to adapt to a wide range of surgical specialties and fast-paced environments.
