Oracle OIPA Engineer Policy Administration Systems

Our client is seeking an Oracle Insurance Policy Administration (OIPA) Engineer to support policy administration systems for a major financial services organization. This role involves hands‑on OIPA configuration, SQL/XML development, cloud‑based engineering, and full lifecycle technical delivery. The ideal candidate has deep experience with life/annuity policy administration and thrives in a structured, enterprise environment.

Locations: Charlotte, NC or Minneapolis, MN (Local candidates will only be considered)

Contract Duration: 6 months | W2

Requirements:

• Participate in peer and cross‑team code reviews.
• Mentor junior developers and support development governance.
• Improve system performance, reliability, and resource utilization.
• Perform unit testing and support QA with test cases and test data.
• Write high‑quality, standards‑compliant code and maintain existing logic.
• Design, configure, and enhance OIPA components, rules, and integrations.
• Collaborate with business analysts, architects, and cross‑functional teams.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and cloud‑based application development.
• Develop detailed low‑level design (LLD) documents and engineering specifications.
• Troubleshoot production issues, perform root‑cause analysis, and implement fixes.

Qualifications (Must-Haves)

• Experience working with geographically dispersed teams.
• Strong communication, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
• Proven ability to write clean, maintainable code following best practices.
• 2–3 years of cloud application development (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• 5–7+ years of experience with Oracle Insurance Policy Administration (OIPA)
• 5–7 years of SQL and XML development (Includes writing views, stored procedures, functions, and performance tuning)
• Strong experience with: Visual Studio, Git, SQL Server Management Studio, CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Ansible, or similar)
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field OR equivalent hands‑on experience.

Preferred Skills:

• UNIX/Linux shell scripting.
• Exposure to AI/MLOps concepts.
• Container technologies (Docker, EKS, ECS)
• Experience with AWS‑based full‑stack development.
• Experience translating business requirements into technical designs.
