Orderly - Full Time - Evenings

Simpson General Hospital is seeking a dependable and compassionate Orderly to join our Acute Care team.

This position plays an important role in supporting patient care by assisting with patient transportation, safe patient handling, admissions and discharges, equipment management, and unit support activities. The Orderly works closely with nurses and other healthcare professionals to help ensure patients receive safe, efficient, and quality care.

What You'll Do

• Transport patients throughout the hospital for testing, procedures, admissions, transfers, and discharge


• Assist nursing staff with patient lifting, transfers, ambulation, and positioning


• Obtain and record vital signs as assigned


• Respond to call lights and assist with routine patient needs


• Deliver and retrieve supplies, equipment, and patient care items


• Prepare patient rooms for admissions and transfers


• Stock supplies and maintain organized patient care areas


• Assist with admission and discharge activities


• Help maintain a safe, clean, and efficient care environment


• Support the nursing team with a variety of daily operational tasks

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED strongly preferred


• Current BLS certification required or ability to obtain within approved timeframe


• Previous healthcare experience preferred


• Strong communication and teamwork skills


• Ability to safely lift, push, pull, and transport patients and equipment


• Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment
