West Plains LLC, a BioUrja Group company, is an agricultural commodity trading business specializing in warehouse operation, risk management, and transportation with a focus on creating value for the company’s producers and consumers. Our customers depend on us to provide market insight, risk management, and logistics support. We are federally licensed and bonded warehousemen that trade whole grains, feed ingredients, freight, and other commodities within North America.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Applicant must be highly motivated and a self-starter
• Assist the Merchandising manager in developing regional origination strategy for grain, oilseeds, and freight.
• Help to manage commodity positions for Freight On Board (FOB) truck trading and freight for rail/truck. 
• Aid in the coordination and teamwork throughout the company to originate grain and oilseeds. 
• Work with the Merchandising Manager to manage general positions, contract exposure, credit, freight and logistics. 
• Communicate & coordinate logistics plans with the operations team. 
• Develop producer origination and relationships for the regional group of elevators.
• Develop relationships with targeted end user commercial accounts

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICIATIONS:

• Bachelors Degree 
• Minimum of 0-5years merchandising experience 
• Understand grain futures & basis relationships 
• Understanding of logistics management 
• Understanding of grain flows and potential opportunities 
• Proven communication skills (written, oral, listening)
